چکیده

Background Severe asthma are linked with high morbidity, significant mortality and high treatment costs. Omalizumab has been shown to decrease the risk of hospitalization or Emergency Department (ED) visits in patients with uncontrolled severe allergic asthma. We aim to describe the conditions under Omalizumab was prescribed in patients followed in a Reference Center for Severe Asthma Treatment in Nova Iguaçu, Rio de Janeiro; and assess the effects of Omalizumab through the Asthma Control Test (ACT) in those patients who had at least a 16 week course.
